At the beginning of the 2006-08 Planning Cycle, WSU retained the following overarching goals:

• To create an outstanding, learner-centered experience in a multi-campus environment
• To support students, faculty and the campus community through technology, administrative systems, outstanding service and campus facilities
• To develop a campus environment of support and engagement for students, faculty and staff
• To foster connections and support with/from external communities
• To enhance the campus community through inclusion and diversity
