The Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC) is a planning and policy advisory council composed of a diversified group of academic and administrative technology users appointed by the President. Considering the mission of the University, and the needs of all administrative, academic and research users, the committee continually discusses, proposes, advocates and reviews short and long term initiatives for information technology. A key aspect of efficient information technology is a campus-wide strategic and financial plan for information technology systems, network and infrastructure. The council will review and recommend new centralized and decentralized application initiatives, development, hardware replacements and enhancements.
The ITAC is charged with advising the President, Provost, appropriate Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors, and other University management personnel on the development of effective information technology systems, services and infrastructure.
Council Membership
The Council is comprised of:
- Weber State University Vice President for Information Technology
- One (1) Academic Dean
- Two (2) members from Student Affairs
- Two (2) members from Administrative Services
- One (1) member from Continuing Education
- One (1) member from University Relations
- One (1) member from Information Technology
- One (1) member from Enrollment Managment
- One (1) member from Information Security Office (ISO)
- Three (3) faculty members (one member is ARCC Chairperson)
- The USHE CIO (or designee)
- One (1) student representative from Student Government (WSUSA)
Membership will be determined through a selection process whereby, the respective Vice-President, or unit administrator recommends personnel to the President for council assignment. Recommendations for membership will be made with consideration to representation from various academic and administrative information systems. To ensure continuity, members shall serve staggered three-year terms.
