Banner: WSU has purchased and implemented the following Banner software modules from SUngard SCT: Finance, Alumni/Development, Human Resources, Student, and Financial Aid.  The Banner software is called LYNX at WSU.

Blackboard: Vendor providing our transaction system for food service and printing services.  The Blackboard Transaction system interfaces with the Wildcard system.

Crystal Reports/Crystal Enterprise: The standard reporting software for WSU that enables data analysis and development of routine and customized reports.  End users at WSU will acess Crystal Enterprise to request to run a report and/or read the results of a report.  Crystal Reports is the portion of the product that is used to write the reports that can be used in Crystal Enterprise.

Curriculum Advising & Program Planning (CAPP): This is part of the baseline Sungard SCT Banner Student module.  It will replace the functionality of the current WSU Grad Eval system.

Evisions: Vendor providing forms and check software.  The FormFusion product takes data from BAnner and applies pre-programmed formats to the data.  Currently it is being used for Purchase Requisitions.  It will also be used for printing official WSU Transcripts.  The Intellicheck product takes data from Banner and applies pre-programmed banking gormats and prints WSU checks.

FOAPAL (pronounced Fow-Paul): An account code, Fund, Organization, Activity, Program, Activity, Location.

INB Access: Internet Native Banner administration access.

Luminis: The "portal" technology that supports students at WSU.  Portal technology provides centralized Web access to information and services in a secure environment.  This is a Sungard SCT product that serves as a gateway to electronic information at the University.  It is a portal which Students to enter their username and password for multiple systems.  This allows for one time 'authentication' of a person to access many technology systems at the university.  The Luminis portal will support WSU Faculty, Staff and Alumni by the end of 2005.  The Luminis software is called eWeber at WSU.

Oracle: Vendor providing the database software being used with Banner.  The Oracle database is where the data.

PIDM (pronounced pid em): Banner’s internal identification number for any person or entity.

Self-Service Access: Internet Banner for general student/staff/faculty.

Sungard SCT: Vendor providing campus-wide enterprise software (i.e., Banner, Campus Loan Manager, and Luminis) to over 1000 Universities and Colleges. 
 
SUN Microsystems: Vendor supplying the hardware being used for Banner, Luminis, Oracle, Vista, and other software at WSU.
 
TouchNet Information Systems: Vendor providing software of automated payment solutions as an extension to the Banner software.  This is being used for cashiering, tuition bills and automated credit card payments. This product will be the 'payment gateway' for WSU personnel and students who need to make payment transactions over the web.  It has a capability to accept Credit Card; Debit Card and E-Check transactions online.
 
Visions Database Company: Vendor providing the WSU Wildcard system.  The Envision product is used to integrate card and photo information with Banner data.

W#: Student identification number.

Workflow: An SCT product that is used to streamline processes including approvals, into a paperless environment.  Many institutional transactions require several layers of approval.

Xtender Solution (BXS): Software from Sungard SCT that provides imaging and document management solutions.  It interfaces with WSU’s existing Legato imaging system.  BXS assists with business processes to deliver electronic documents to specific individuals at specific times.  Departments will be able to scan documents and attach the scanned copies to a persons file.  Already in use by Admissions, Finance and Purchasing, Financial Aid will also be a heavy user of the imaging system.
