To facilitate communications at Weber State University the eWeber WSUBulletin Board includes official University communications, events, and general announcements in one easy-to-access central location.
Important deadlines, concerts, athletic events, and announcements regarding activities, discussion forums, and other opportunities are all posted to this single official announcement location. The WSU Bulletin Board replaces the former eMail bulletins with significant enhancements, as explained below.
What is the WSU Bulletin Board?
The new WSU Bulletin Board is a centralized location to post and access three types of important campus information:
1.Official Notices. These include official communications for WeberStateUniversity. Examples include deadline information, awards notices, billing information, missing application data notices, changes in University policies and/or procedures, reminders, etc. Notices are limited to messages which, if not received by the individual, would have significant negative consequences. Please note however, that course specific communications will still be sent directly from the instructor.
2.Events.Messages regarding upcoming events from either academic or non-academic units, i.e., University, department, club, organization, etc.
3.General Announcements. This category provides departments and offices with a mechanism for keeping the rest of the University informed about the exciting things taking place in their area.
Why is the WSU Bulletin Board important?
The most important part of the new WSU Bulletin Board is the Official Notices section which has been approved by President’s Council as an "official" method of communication. Because this is a critical point of contact, students, faculty and staff should check their Official Notices in the eWeber Portal on a regular basis.
Can specific groups be targeted with a message?
Messages within the WSU Bulletin Board can be targeted to defined groups down to but not limited to a single student. For example, departments will be able to contact all of their senior students, student senators will be able to contact their constituencies, clubs will be able to announce events to their members, etc. Students will be able to receive targeted, timely information and scan a list of summary information rather than receiving multiple "blanket" eMail messages that may or may not apply to them.
Who can post announcements to the WSU Bulletin Board?
Only trained personnel can post announcements to the WSU Bulletin Board. Every university department should have at least one designated individual who has the necessary training and system permissions to post messages. Contact your department head for the name of the person(s) in your area who can post announcements.
