Honors Program Overview


There are three ways to earn Honors:

GENERAL HONORS (Associate's Level)

This option is intended for students who want to earn Honors at the same time as completing their General Education requirements:
  • Complete 12 credit hours of Honors classes prior to receiving your AA or AS degree;
  • Earn a 3.5 GPA by graduation.

UNIVERSITY HONORS (Bachelor's Level)

This option is intended for those students who want to excel academically and prepare for professional life.
  • Complete the 24 credit hour Honors Core requirements listed below:
    • 9 credit hours made up of HNRS HU1110 Introduction to Honors and/or any of the 2000-level Honors classes;
    • 6 credit hours of HNRS 3900;
    • A 3 credit hour senior thesis in the student's major department or through the Honors Program;
  • Earn a 3.5 GPA by graduation.

DEPARTMENTAL HONORS (Bachelor's Level)
