AMERICA FIRST CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP
Type PRIVATE-DEPARTMENTAL
Criteria The scholarship recipient must be a family member of a current employee or volunteer of America First Credit Union, must be majoring in History, be a Junior or Senior and attending full-time, and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need.
Designation Notes A scholarship committee chosen by the History Department Chair. Financial need is to be considered as a tie breaker if there are students of equal quality. A family member is defined as either a child or grandchild. Students must maintain the GPA to continue to receive the scholarship.

DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY SCHOLARSHIP
Type WAIVER - ACADEMIC
Criteria The Department of History will award this Academic Waiver on an annual basis. It will waive a portion of the in-state tuition and a combination of scholarships may not exceed the amount of annual tuition. The maximum amount of WSU institutional scholarships/waivers/awards a student may receive annually may not exceed more than 150% total cost of tuition. The award amount will be a minimum of $300 ($150 per semester) up to the annual budget amount. It is for resident in-state portion of tuition only and will not cover independent study, distance learning/contract courses, credit/non credit or audit course work. The student must be enrolled full time at WSU (12 - 18 credit hours) each semester. Students must apply each year by the applicable deadline. Student must be a Utah resident with a 3.0 GPA or better, 60 or more credit hours and in a history program. Satisfactory Progress: Students below a 2.5 cumulative GPA will have their scholarship removed.

HARRINGTON ASIAN STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria The scholarship recipient must be an undergraduate, full-time student enrolled in the Asian Studies program at WSU, and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Preference will be given to those students who have completed at least 2 semesters of an Asian foreign language (or the equivalent in comprehensive credit) and one Asian history course. Applicants will need to submit an essay.
Designation Notes The Asian Studies program coordinator's office will need to provide the essay subject to applicants and accept the essays. The recipient will be chosen by the History department's scholarship committee, with input accepted from the Harrington's.
