My home town is Layton, Utah. It is the only place I have lived for more than 3 years consecutively. I was raised in a military family so we moved around a lot.
Why did you choose to come to Weber State?
Weber state was close to home and family. Here I can study the programs I wanted to study without giving up that support network I had developed. It’s a smaller university too which means I don’t have to compete to get help form an instructor.
Tell us your biggest accomplishment or favorite memory (or both) from your time at Weber State
So far my biggest accomplishment at Weber was being accepted to the AT program in 2011. Some of my favorite memories have been the AT program activities like the Undergrad-Masters Football game. Go undergrads!
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I plan on continuing my education to either a master’s degree or medical school. After that I plan on getting my commission in the Air Force (I’m currently enlisted).
How do you like to spend your leisure time?
I like to be outside, usually with my wife and child. Camping, hiking, etc. Anything goes. When inside I enjoy reading philosophical classics with the occasional spy thriller thrown in the mix.
Tell us about your activities outside of school (community service, hobbies, etc)
I lift a lot with a few buddies I’ve lifted with for a few years. I would like to participate in an amateur strength contest or possibly wrestle for Weber before I leave. I am also a scout leader for varsity scouts ages 14-16. I really enjoy making my own furniture and other woodworking projects. I am currently a Staff Sergeant n the Air Force Reserve with the 446 Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. In that capacity I transport wounded soldiers from combat areas to hospitals in Europe, South-east Asia, and the US. I am also an EMT instructor for the unit when not flying missions.
Tell us something interesting about yourself that we don’t know.
I like to sing. Have been in a number of performing groups. But my favorite group to sing with is my family. We used to perform at all sorts of functions before all the kids grew up and started moving away from home.
