HPHP Student Spotlight

Tiffany Vlahos is a senior majoring in Athletic Training.

What is your home town, and what is something interesting about it.

I was born and raised here in Ogden, home of the Wildcats

Why did you choose to come to Weber State?

Not only is Weber State close by and relatively affordable, I have loved the small class
sizes throughout my time here, as well as the relationships I have been able to build
with my professors. You don't find that at larger universities. Weber State gives you
the opportunity to be recognized as an individual, not just another body in an over
  sized lecture hall.

Tell us your biggest accomplishment or favorite memory (or both) from your
  time at Weber State
.

Being accepted into the Athletic Training program was a great accomplishment. Through the program, I have been given a great deal of incredible opportunities that I never would have imagined myself doing. Among the many amazing experiences the program has provided me, I've had the fortune of being on the sidelines of Wildcat half-court buzzer beaters, cheering with the team from the bench of Utah Blaze games, patching up injuries and ailments of an undefeated Women’s Air Force Volleyball team, and behind the scenes prepping players for each practice and game of this season's exceptionally hard-working football team. It's been an incredible experience and I've loved every bit of it.

What are your plans after graduation?

I am currently in the process of applying to graduate programs for Sports Medicine and, upon completing that program, hope to be accepted to Physician's Assistant school.

How do you like to spend your leisure time?

Reading anything other than a textbook and baking homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Tell us about your activities outside of school (community service, hobbies, etc.)

I spend a lot of time volunteering to help provide medical coverage at local athletic events and have repeatedly been attempting to learn how to play guitar. I also enjoy baking, hiking, singing, tumbling, Pilates, and exercising my second amendment right with my boyfriend at the shooting range.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that we don’t know.

I am half Greek. My father was adopted from Athens, but I have yet to have the opportunity to visit Greece.
