Students in pursuit of an undergraduate degree from the following states may apply for this program: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming.
This scholarship results in a reduced tuition level, and the student will pay 150 percent of the institution’s regular resident tuition.
To be eligible for this scholarship, please do the following:
- Complete the application for admission to WSU
- Complete the scholarship application via the eWeber portal before the deadline (the earlier you apply, the more competitive you will be for the scholarship).
a) It is available for 8 semesters (Fall and Spring semesters only). Summer semester does not count as part of the 8 semester limit.
b) Nonresident students pay only resident tuition if they attend summer semester.
c) Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time (12-18 credits).
d) Maintain full-time status and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher depending on the type of scholarship
e) Annually submitting the WSU scholarship application via the eWeber portal by checking 'YES' on the WUE Scholarship' option will notify the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office at Weber State University of your intention to continue enrollment.
f) Students with majors in dental hygiene, nursing or teacher education programs are not eligible
g) Students enrolled in distance learning, contract courses and most independent study or study abroad programs are not eligible
h) Time spent in Utah on the WUE cannot be counted towards establishing resident student status.
i) The program is not available for students who are already attending Weber State University. Exceptions may be made where space is available in the program by Weber State University Financial Aid and Scholarship Office and, where applicable, the State certifying Office, and by meeting application and selection criteria for the available WUE awards.
j) Selection for participation in the program is on a space available basis, only a finite number of such waivers are available within an academic year.Students from any participating state are given WUE tuition status only in degree programs at the levels in which his/her home state offers programs to WUE students from other states. Please check with the State Certifying Office in your state before applying.
