  • attend informations sessions on topics like paying for college, choosing a career, getting involved in campus life, and much more.

What is Wildcat Welcome?

Wildcat Welcome is an open house-style event for prospective students, parents, and counselors to visit WSU and experience this amazing place firsthand.  Click here to see the Wildcat Welcome agenda for the day.

Students can attend Major Fest where representatives from WSU's 215 undergraduate majors will be on hand to talk about their programs and answer questions.

One of the best reasons to come to Wildcat Welcome is that all students who are admitted and qualify for an academic scholarship will walk away from campus with their scholarship offer in hand!  That means you can get your scholarship award much earlier than normal!

To be considered for scholarships

Students must be admitted and submit the online scholarship application before the scholarship deadline of January 9, 2012.  To be admitted, click apply and fill out the online application. You will also need to send your transcripts and ACT/SAT scores to WSU by the January 9 deadline. Once you are admitted, submit the online scholarship application. Simply log in to your student portal, click the "Student Services" tab, and you'll find the "Scholarship Application" link on the left side of the page.

Scholarship Index Score

Eligibility for academic scholarships is determined by a student's index score, which is a combination of GPA and ACT or SAT scores. Click here to access the New Freshman 'INDEX CHART' to determine eligibility.

ACT/SAT Scores

Make sure to send all ACT/SAT scores to WSU to be used for scholarship consideration.  As students sign up to take the test they are given the opportunity to have scores sent directly to a few colleges at no cost.  Using this option to send scores to WSU is an easy way to make sure we have them.

Parking

Parking for the morning hours of Wildcat Welcome is on the south side of the Dee Event Center and we'll provide a shuttle bus to bring you to Wildcat Welcome; for the evening session simply park anywhere near the Shepherd Union Building (click here for a campus map). This is a great day, so come join us and get your scholarship!
