Residency

Effective July 1, 2008, students who are not claimed on a tax return of any person who is not a resident of Utah, will be eligible to apply for residency after having lived in Utah for just one year. That means new students residing in Utah for 12 continuous months who are financially independent will be able to apply for residency as early as July 1, 2008. You must also have a Utah driver’s license and car registration that was obtained three months before applying for residency.
