Prequisites to your ENGL 1010 course are ACT English and Reading scores of 17 or higher within the past 24 months, or a "C" or better in ENGL 0955, or a "C" or better in ESL 2510 (for non-native English speakers), or sufficient Accuplacer scores earned within the past 12 months.

For possible placement into ENGL 1010, you may take the Reading Comprehension and/or Sentance Skills ACCUPLACER exam. Non-native English speakers must take the ESL Accuplacer Reading Skills and/or Language Usage exams. Go to weber.edu/accuplacer for more information on Accuplacer testing.

ACT English and Reading scores of 29 or higher within the past 24 months will place you into ENGL 2010. Contact the English Department for advising on remaining 3 credit hours.

Weber State University students who anticipate transferring to another institution within the Utah State higher education system should fulfill quantitative literacy (QL) with one of the approved Math QL courses rather than PHIL 2200, "Deductive Logic”. PHIL 2200 will not be accepted in transfer as a QL course by another Utah public institution of higher education.

To enroll in PHIL 2200, you must have either earned an ACT Math score of 23 or above within the past 24 months, completed MATH 0955** or MATH 0960 with a grade of "C" or better within the past 12 months, or earned a sufficient Accuplacer score within the past 12 months. MATH 0960 has a prerequisite of a "C" or better in MATH 0950 or an appropriate Accuplacer score.

Majors other than General Studies may require a specific QL course to complete program requirements. Please contact your academic advisor to determine the best QL option for you. CREDIT/NO CREDIT EXAMS:

• Register and pay for a half credit for each exam
• See hours and sign-up times at programs.weber.edu/cil as well as in Building 4 on the door of 409
• Tests are computer and Internet based
• You may retake each exam twice during the semester for which you are registered
• Retakes cost $5 per exam (paid to the Cashier’s office, 2nd floor of the Student Services Center)
• If you fail both retakes during the semester, you must register for the equivalent classes (see list) to fulfill the requirement. Failed exams will not receive credit (will not affect your GPA)

You must earn a grade of “C-” or better to fulfill the Computer & Information Literacy requirement.
