Instructor and Peer Mentor Agreement

 

Please complete and return a copy to FYE and keep a copy for each of your records


The Education 1105 instructor and the peer mentor should work together to serve the needs of FYE students. 
Please read and check (x) the following expectations in agreement.

A. EDUC 1105 Instructor

  ____ Provide class time for the peer mentor to plan and carry out the in-class social. 
  ____ Include the peer mentor in the ice-breaker activities.
  ____ Allow the peer mentor five minutes per week for an "information exchange" in front of the class.
  ____ Work with the peer mentor to plan a topic and time for the teaching presentation
  ____ Actively involve the peer mentor in class activities.

B. EDUC 1105 Peer Mentor

  ____ Attend Education 1105 each day the class meets.
  ____ Attend cluster or planning meetings with instructors.
  ____ Participation and Involvement:
   
  • Read all Education 1105 textbook chapters and participate in class discussion
  • Assist with ice-breakers and small-group work
  • Contact students who are absent or struggling
  • Hold study groups for students
  ____ Prepare and present a five-minute "information exchange" once a week. 
  ____ Organize an Education 1105 in-class social activity for cluster faculty/Education 1105 instructor and students early in the semester (during the first three weeks).
  ____ Agree on a presentation topic and date with Education 1105 instructor and then plan and teach one class session.
  ____ Attend the weekly Peer Mentor Leadership Seminar (Education 3170).
