Becky Jo Gesteland is Professor and Assistant Chair of English at Weber State University, where she teaches various classes in technical writing and American literature. After receiving a PhD in American Studies from the University of Utah, she worked as a technical writer for several years. Her research interests include immigration in American literature, frontier literature, women's autobiography, XML, and assessment. Her work has appeared in Breaking Boundaries: New Perspectives on Women’s Regional Writing, Plateau Journal: Land and Peoples of the Colorado Plateau, Content Management: Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice, Technical Communication, and Weber: The Contemporary West, among others. Currently, Becky's working on a memoir of her summers working as a park ranger.
