Classified staff have an assigned grade on the classified pay scale. A job description is prepared for each classified position by the supervisor and reviewed by Human Resources. Human Resources determines the grade by the relative difficulty, responsibility and necessary qualifications described in the job description.
Professional staff have an assigned grade on the professional pay scale. A job description is prepared for each professional position and reviewed by Human Resources (HR). HR determines the pay grades and salary ranges based on the following factors: knowledge, ingenuity and stress, administrative responsibility, operating responsibility, and working conditions.
Executive staff have salary ranges which are determined by minimum to advanced degrees and difficulty of responsibilities.
Pay increases for salaried employees are considered annually provided funding is available. Pay changes become effective on the first day of the fiscal year, July 1.
