The University encourages you to fulfill your civic responsibilities when called to serve on a jury or to appear in a court of law as a witness. You will be paid full salary during such absence but will be asked to return the jury or witness fee to the University. A person who appears in court as a defendant or on his/her own behalf is not entitled to paid leave. (PPM 3-24)
