What are the employment opportunities?

Electrical Engineering graduates are qualified for a wide variety of engineering positions. These range from manufacturing and industrial controls, to computing, broadcasting and communications. Much of the work done by electrical engineers includes design, analysis and testing of a wide variety of electrical devices and systems. Starting salaries vary, depending upon the region of the country where the graduate chooses to locate. Nationwide, starting salaries for electrical engineers have been averaging $55,000 annually.

How does the program work?

Weber State University, in partnership with Utah State University, is offering a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the WSU Davis Campus in Layton.

The degree consists of two parts:
  • The pre-professional program, consisting a set of engineering courses offered through WSU.

  • The professional program, consisting of the BSEE degree offered through USU.
After completing the pre-professional courses at WSU, a student can apply to the Electrical Engineering professional program at USU. After acceptance, the student will be able to complete the BSEE degree by taking the courses offered by USU at the WSU Davis Campus.
