Employees, volunteers and students who drive for University purposes should visit the website and follow the instructions to renew an expired or expiring defensive driving training and certification and to learn more about the new training program.Drivers are required to view the training video before taking the test. Please note that the majority of the questions on the test are from the Utah Driver's Handbook; a link to the handbook is available for study/reference here. You will need to have the following information when taking the test:
- Your Full Name (Last, First)
- Select “Higher Education” for Agency Type
- Select “Weber State University” for Your Agency
- Enter Your Full Email Address
- Enter Your Supervisor’s Email Address
- Enter your W Number for Your Employee ID #
The quiz must be passed with 70%, may be stopped and restarted at a later time, and covers randomized information from the online training and the Utah Driver's Handbook. All study materials are available online. All certifications on the online program are good for two years.
After completing the certification, please forward your emailed certificate to driver@weber.edu with your department name and mail code in the body of the email. You may also mail a hard copy to mc 3002, Attn: EHS, with your department name and mail code. If you have any questions, please call Heather at extension 7547.
