PAR 2000 Introduction

- 4 week campus class – 8/27 to 9/24/13

- 24 timed open-book quizzes 1

- 3 secure sectional exams 1

- 1 secure final exam 1

PAR 2020 Trauma

- 3 week campus class – 1/29 to mid-Feb 2014

- 9 timed open-book quizzes 1

- 1 secure EKG Analysis Exam 1

- 1 secure final exam 1

PAR 2010 – Medical Emergencies

- 10 week campus class – 9/25 to 12/13/13

- 18 timed open-book quizzes 1

-  Students start drug cards

- 5 secure sectional exams 1

- 2 Verbal EKG/ACLS Treatment Exams

- 1 Benchmark EKG/ACLS Treatment Exam* 1, 2

- 1 secure final exam 1

 

PAR 2040 – Paramedic Skills Lab I

- 16 weeks campus class – 9/26 to mid Feb 2014

- 18% of grade for professional bearing

- Benchmark Cardiac Team Lead*1, 2

- Benchmark Pediatric Team Lead*1, 2

- Benchmark Comprehensive Final Exam** 1, 2

- 32% of grade for “Mock Registry” Exam*** 1

PAR 2110 – Paramedic Clinical Skills II

- Campus class 09/25/12 to 2/28/13

- 160 hospital hours (minimum) AND

  Competency # for ET, IV, Meds, Peds, etc.

- Grade based on preceptor scoring and

   professional behavior

PAR 2120 Paramedic Field Internship

- Campus class 2/16/13 to 4/25/13^

- Students MUST commit to a standard A / B / or  C shift with a regular truck and preceptor. 

- 480 hours minimum AND 50 ALS team leads

- Must demonstrate full ALS team lead capability

- Grade based on preceptor scoring and

   professional behavior

PAR 2030 Special Considerations

- 3 week campus class – 1/8/12 to 1/29/13

- 9 timed open-book quizzes 1

- 1 secure PEPP exam 1

- 1 secure EKG Analysis Exam 1

- 1 secure final exam 1

PAR 2100 – Advanced Paramedic Practice

- Campus class April 2013

- 2 PowerPoint presentations

- 2 secure EKG exams 1

- 1 benchmark ACLS exam** 1, 2

- 1 benchmark PALS exam ** 1, 2

- 1 benchmark EKG exam** 1, 2

- 1 benchmark program comprehensive final** 1, 2

- Oral boards with physician and panel** 1, 2

 NOTES:

* Must pass on no more than 3 attempts

** Must pass on no more than 2 attempts

*** Must pass 5 of 9 stations to progress

 

1 Grades are not curved; no repeats or extra credit

2 First grade counts for transcript letter grade, repeat exam(s) demonstrate competency

 

^ May extend two weeks if required

^^ Field Ride WILL NOT be extended past December 20. 

Campus NRP Skills Exam - 2/16/14

 

Students must achieve 80% (B-) in each PAR course in order to progress and/or receive an Institutional Certificate or AAS Degree. 

 

! ! ! As of Fall 2011, students failing to progress in the campus (day) course are no longer allowed to "step-back" and continue their progression with the evening class. Students will "stop-out" and must reapply to be accepted in the next full paramedic sequence.
