Mentor/Tutor Training Workshop
The Community Involvement Center and WSU’s Education Access and Outreach office have created an online mentor/tutor training for all students acting in those roles throughout the community. The purpose of the training is two-fold, to inform students of their responsibilities as mentors and/or tutors and to deepen and enrich their community experiences. The training focuses on mentoring, tutoring, professionalism, pre-college programs, ethics, and cultural sensitivity.
The workshop will provide faculty members with a basic knowledge of the online mentor/tutor training, how to access it and how it can be a resource to them and their students. Join us to learn how the training modules can be resources for all faculty members engaging their students in community-based learning, not just those who have students in the community acting as mentors/tutors.
