PRESENTATIONS/PROFESSIONAL AND CREATIVE ACTIVITIES

Reader for Babcock Theater programs in 2005 on the Holocaust and in 2006 on Baseball at
the University of Utah.

Served as external reviewer for manuscript for Text and Performance Quarterly May 2004.

Participated as reader in Teaching Award panel at WSCA Convention February 18, 2004.

Served as President of the Utah State Poetry Society from 2001 to 2003.  Active membership of more than 250 poets in seven chapters statewide.  Responsible for administrative functions, board meeting agenda ,conducting public events, newsletter president messages, grants writing for financial support from Utah Arts Council.

Performed in Winter Olympic Poetry reading Program presented by the USPS through a Cultural
Heritage Grant sponsored by SLOC. Arranged event held at Central Davis Branch Library February 9, 2002.

Discussion leader with The Book Group sponsored by Utah Humanities Council at the Davis North Branch Library in Clearfield and also at South Branch in Bountiful  January 3rd and 9th 2002.  Book review of novel Housekeeping by Marilynn Robinson.

Participated in Dead Poet division of 3rd Annual WSU Poetry Slam November 7, 2001–won first place with poet Theodore Roethke.

Hosted Utah Chapter of EDIS Emily Dickinson International Society Parody Poetry Contest
October 1998.  Won 1st Place and 2nd Honorable Mention.

Presenter in “Author as Author: A Performance Hour Program” November 23, 1997 at
the National Communication Association Convention in Chicago. Sponsored by Performance Studies Division.

Served as Master of Ceremony at the 2nd Annual Storytelling Festival held in Ogden September 12 and 13, 1997.

Conducted poetry workshop for the Wasatch Writers, August 12, 1996. Topic: “In Appreciation of Assonance in Poetry.”

Performed program of poetry “These Kinds of Love” at First Unitarian Church, Salt Lake City, July 9, 1995.
