Hours: 180 hours scheduled throughout the semester on a weekly basis (taken as a 3 credit Weber State University course)

Schedule: Flexible times are available between 8 a.m-5 p.m. on weekdays to allow for the intern’s classes and other employment, as well as scheduling around the availability of any on-camera talent, etc.

Wage: Up to $10 per hour

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge:

• Video camera skills

• Video editing (with Adobe Premiere Pro, preferably on a PC)

• Lighting set-up for video

• Audio production skills for video

• Writing and/or editing scripts

• Working well within department channels to gain approval of production ideas and final scripts.

• Coaching on-camera talent, as necessary, to achieve desired results within context of productions.

• Scheduling people, resources, locations, and equipment for video shoots.

• Researching and gaining appropriate legal permission to use applicable production music, sound effects, and visual materials that require little or no cost to procure.

To inquire about this internship, contact Bob Ballew, DCHD’s Public Information Officer, at 801-525- 5175. Interested persons should send a résumé to rballew@daviscountyutah.gov.

Zion's Bank Internship (PAID) - MUST ATTEND JAN. 16TH 1:00 PRESENTATION IN WATTIS 206

Zions Bank has several internship opportunities available. The focus of this exciting program is to hire a diverse pool of students who are attending various colleges and universities. These full-time, paid intern positions, located primarily in the Salt Lake area, will begin in June and end the last week of August. Our summer internship program was established in 1998 to give students the chance to explore the banking industry and the Zions Bank community culture. The objective of the internship program is to provide students an opportunity to use and apply their coursework to a “real life” environment. It encourages the student to think critically and to constantly redefine the content and process of the learning experience. The internship program also is expected to heighten the individual’s awareness of community issues, motivate students to create opportunities, embrace new ideas, and give direction to positive change. The internship will provide work experience relating to one or more of the following areas: Zions internship programs are generally for seniors and juniors, and potentially for outstanding sophomores. Information Sessions for Utah universities are offered each year. The application period for the summer program is typically January 1 - February 15. All applications MUST be submitted online at www.zionsbank.com. Select the “About us” button at the top of the web page, go to “Careers” and type “Internship” under key words to search for the requisition number, (available only during the application period).

Next Wednesday - January 16th at 1:00 p.m. in Room 206 of the Wattis Business Building - representatives from Zions Bank will be here to talk about their outstanding summer internship for students majoring in business and communication.  This is a full time work experience for the summer of 2013 (June through August).  It is a PAID experience and I believe the hourly rate in the past has been $12.00/hour.  It may have gone up.  The program is targeted primarily for seniors and juniors (seniors being students who will NOT complete their baccalaureate degree prior to December 2013).  They will consider a sophomore student if they come highly recommended from one of you.

The application process will be explained at the meeting on Jan. 16th.  Students who wish to apply, MUST attend next Wednesday's meeting in order to be considered.  They do not have to dress up in interview attire, they can come in their regular school attire.  No need to bring a resume as all applications must be submitted online.  The requisition number will be given at the presentation and students will be required to sign in.
