In 2013, the Wall Street Journal had computer-related careers in the top three best jobs in America in terms of current demand, stress level and salary. Salaries are consistently in the top-10 ranges with ComputerWorld reporting 2013 base salaries at, for example, over $75,000 for programmer/analyst and over $87,000 for Software Engineer. Computer software engineers occupation is projected to grow 22% over the 2012 - 22 decade, resulting in excellent job prospects according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In the Computer Science Department at Weber State University, we teach students hands-on training, logical thinking, computer theory and system internals. Our program offers a combination of practical, applications-oriented experience along with theory and concepts of computer science. Within our curriculum you will learn all the important languages, environments, and tools that will allow you to succeed in areas such as embedded systems, web development, hand held applications, games, enterprise application development, and more.
