Personal Biography

Position: Associate Professor

Degree: 1967- B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of Utah.
1972- Masters Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Computer Science.

Publications: Years ago I co-authored a programming text named “Business Fortran – A Structured Approach”. I wrote a lab manual named “DEC-10 Supplement to Lawlor’s BASIC”. I wrote an article for the International Journal of Instructional Media titled “Computer Managed Instruction: An Approach”

Current Field of Study: I am interested in programming languages/logic, software engineering and compiler theory. I enjoy the logical and systematic content of these topics.

Biggest Accomplishment in CS: I have tried my very best for over 30 years to be worthy of the nickname "Professor Hartless".

Something Interesting: I have done a lot of contract programming during the last 30 years for downtown businesses and the aerospace industry. Specifically, I have worked for Amalgamated Sugar, Professional Management Corp., TRW, Scientech and Synergy. I participated in a partnership named “Hart Associates” which developed a Municipal City Accounting package and a Medical Billing System.
