![]() Contact Information for Richard Fry Email: rich@wsuslcc.com Personal Biography Position: I am the program coordinator for the Computer Science program at Salt Lake Community College, but I’m also considered faculty because I also teach two classes a semester, as a full time instructor. Degree: 1998- B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Park University, Parkville MO. Current Field of Study: The potential of the Internet really excites me. My main area of focus has been N-Tier development. I have extensive knowledge and practical experience in relational database design/modeling, dynamic web programming with Microsoft .NET, and systems administration. Since the beginning of my Information Systems career I have been responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining several database structures and web sites used within the United States Air Force. The database platforms that I have used are Sybase, Access, and SQL Server. I am also proficient in Visual Basic.NET, C#.NET, and ADO.NET, and ASP.NET technologies. Biggest Accomplishment in CS: Some of the highlights of my career involve managing a help desk for several thousand Air Force users, building the first mobile computer deployment kits for troops stationed in Iraq, administrating a working capital fund database for the Department of Defense, with over $4.5 Million in assets, and designing and delivering computer based tutorials for claims adjudication and legal research software. Something Interesting: I was born and raised in Montana, and because of that, I always wanted to see the world. I love to travel to far away places, and have visited over 15 countries in the past 4 years. I also love to hike, ski, mountain bike, rollerblade, and I brew my own beer (not the 3.2 stuff either). |
