LS/PS GE Waivers | |||
Please review the following LS/PS GE Breadth Waiver guidelines.1) If a student is missing .5 credits or less in the PS/LS area of GE Breadth it is automatically waived and no paper work is necessary. Advisors clearing students for graduation are welcome to list this policy in the student's online file, or may email me (amiller@weber.edu) the student's information and I can post the comment. 2) If a student is missing more than .5 credits in the PS/LS area of GE Breadth a written request must be filed. The written request may be sent using the Wildcat email address so I can securely respond back if necessary. See instructions and request form for more information about the written request. 3) If a student is requesting a waiver of .667 to 1 full credit they must have 3 LS/PS general education courses (not CLEP exams) from 3 different areas. Anything over 1 credit must meet one of the "Grounds For Request" listed on the Waiver Request Form along with significant proof. These will be handled with extreme and individual care through the College of Science Dean's office. 4) 8 CLEP credits can be earned prior to students taking any college level science course. If the CLEP exam is taken after a course has been completed the credits from that class are subtracted from the total earned credits from the CLEP exam. Only if the CLEP exam is taken first can the full 9 credits be completed by the CLEP exam and one course. 5) If a student is able to use all 8 CLEP credits the remaining credit is unwaivable and a course will still be required to finish the LS/PS GE area.
