2008: George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation: “Excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education Initiative,” for the purpose of purchasing several pieces of equipment (SEM, XRD, microplate spectrophotometer): $200,000

2007: Dr. David Weidman (primarily facilitated by Dr. Edward Walker, Chemistry; to obtain a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance instrument critical for instruction and research as required for American Chemical Society degree certification): $75,000

2006: Dr. Ezekiel R. Dumke Family Pre-Medical Professional Program Endowment (endowed the College of Science’s very successful pre-medical professional programs): $2,000,000

2005: NASA PLANET grant (PI – Dr. Stacy Palen; produce programming for K-8 core curricula for all states; Spanish-language programming; rural outreach): $1,000,000
