Starting Salaries
Starting salaries vary depending on the region and experience.  Jobs are available all across the country. Graduates on average start at $57,000 per year with some starting as high as $65,000. For more information, go to Career Services.

    • This unique program is only one of four programs nation wide offering a full four-year B.S. degree with an emphasis in Welding Engineering Technology.
    • The program is designed to produce welding engineering technology graduates that are involved in the concept, design, engineering, metallurgy of weldments and implementation of welding processes.
    • Graduates from the program are in high demand and starting salaries are among the highest for WSU graduates.

What will I learn in the program?

The program has six main areas of study: Welding and Manufacturing, Design and Structural, Metallurgical, Quality Assurance, Electrical, and Management.  The courses are designed to give students the background to solve welding related issues in a variety of industry settings. Students will learn how to set up welding quality systems with procedures and qualifications. Most of the classes have labs where students receive hands on training to complement the classroom instruction.  Students complete a senior project with a team that brings together all of their experience and education.
