Our on-campus CLS students are involved in a wide variety of undergraduate research projects, ranging from using molecular biology to identify virulence factors in bacteria to validating clinical instruments that detect antibodies in blood samples. To see photos of students conducting and presenting their research, click to start our slideshow. For information on how to get involved in undergraduate research, scroll down.
Also, if you are in the on-campus CLS pre-professional track and interested in undergraduate research projects, CLS 4801 is offered as a two-semester class (1-3 credits). To begin a research project:
Students are required to present the findings of their research in April at two conferences: the WSU Spring Symposium as an oral presentation, and ASCLS-Utah Spring Seminar as an oral and poster presentation. Students who have done outstanding research will be encouraged to apply to present their findings at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research (ncur.org), along with submitting a travel grant application to receive funds to attend the conference. For a list of current and past CLS research projects, visit the DCHP Undergraduate Research web page. For information about research at Weber State University, visit the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) web page. |
