The WSU Clinical Laboratory Sciences programs are organized into a "ladder" format, with the four-year curriculum divided into two programs.

The Bachelor of Science Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technology program (CLS/MT) is offered to currently practicing clinical laboratory technicians seeking career advancement. It builds upon the knowledge and skills gained in the Clinical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Technician AAS program that comprises the first two years of the program.

The BS program is divided into two tracks:

  • Track I is for those who intend to work as clinical laboratory scientists. As a graduate, you may find work in in medical administration, cytology, histology, industrial labs, education, medical sales, medical research, forensics, hospital laboratories, etc. Starting salaries for BS graduates begin around $37,000.

  • Track II contains pre-professional course requirements. If you are planning to apply to medical, dental, veterinary or other graduate schools, this track will prepare you for your continuing education.
