AAS Suggested Course Sequence

This is a suggested schedule for completing your course requirements for the AAS degree, including prerequisite courses during your first/freshman year at WSU. Please see a CLS faculty advisor (626-6118 to schedule an advising appointment) for complete information and advice on course selection.

Track I
This curriculum is intended for students who plan on working in a clinical laboratory after graduation and do not plan on attending medical, physician assistant, dental, veterinay, or graduate school.

 1st year / Freshman -  fall semester

Credits

 CLS 1113 - Introduction to Clinical Laboratory Practice 4
 CHEM 1110 - Elementary Chemistry 5
 ENGL 1010 - Introduction to Writing 3
 MATH 1010
         Or CLS 2003 - Applied Lab Math and Statistics*

Total credits   15

* CLS 2003 math course does meet the math requirement for an AAS degree in CLS, but does not meet the quantative literacy requirement for a BS degree.  Can also be taken during fall semester of sophomore yr. 

 1st year / Freshman -  spring semester

After completing the above courses, 1) you will be eligible to receive your Associate of Applied Science degree and graduate from the CLT/MLT program, and 2) you will apply to the Bachelor of Science Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technology program (CLS/MT) by May 1.



Track II - pre-professional
This curriculum is intended only for students interested in attending medical, physician assistant, dental, veterinay, or graduate school.
