Important Dates

As you progress through the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences' two-year AAS program, keep the following dates and deadlines in mind:

Freshman Year

Fall Semester (your first semester)

  • Set up an appointment with a CLS faculty advisor. Discuss the requirements for acceptance into the CLT program and develop a semester list of courses that you will take over the next two years.  
  • Verify your Major declaration; to do this, log in to your weber account, click on the student services tab, in the Academic Profile box you will see information regarding your program, major, and department.  If you are not listed in the CLS program, please contact the department secretary in MH, room 208.

Spring Semester

  • Make application for the CLT program before the May 1 deadline.

Summer Semester

  • Complete all support and CLS courses required for acceptance into the CLT program..

Sophomore Year 

Fall Semester

  • If you are planning on graduating the following spring or summer semesters with your AAS, have the department secretary schedule an graduation clearence evaluation with the CLS program director.  During this evaluation, the program director will review your transcripts and determine what courses need to be completed for graduation.  Also, you will receive information about the registry exam.
  • When you register for spring semester, you will also sign up for practicums, CLS 2256 and CLS 2257, which are completed during the summer after your sophomore year.  .

Spring Semester

    March

  • Decide when you wish to take the certification exam(s), and determine the deadline dates for those. 
  • Order a cap and gown at the WSU bookstore for the graduation ceremony (included in your graduation application fee).

    April

  • Sign up for summer practicums, CLS 2256 and CLS 2257, with the CLS practicum coordinator.

    May 

  • Apply for CLS program by May 1, if you are planning on continuing into the BS program. 
  • Attend the CLT graduation ceremony.


Summer Semester

  • Complete any remaining courses required for graduation with your AAS degree.
  • Complete practicums and return paper work to the practicum coordinator. 
  • Complete the CLT certification exam and send an official transcript to prove the completion of your degree and to receive an official notice of your scores.
