Welcome to the Dr. Ezekiel R. Dumke College of Health Professions!

Our mission is to meet workforce needs by committing to the establishment, promotion and evaluation of standards of excellence in health care professional education. The college will continue to provide opportunities to meet, communicate, collaborate and partner within the health care and academic communities.

For many years, our programs have been leaders in preparing the health care workforce in Utah, as well as in outreach programs outside the state. All of our programs are designed with the working professional in mind.

WSU offers a career-ladder approach in 19 health professions programs, and a vast array of specialties within those programs. Seventy-five percent of new Utah-educated health care professionals graduate from WSU. Additionally, we house the Northern Utah Area Health Education Center (AHEC), which works with us to promote the provision of health care and health care education in rural and underserved areas of the state.

Our faculty and staff provide an excellent professional preparatory education through various cutting-edge delivery methods, whether through remote on-site classrooms, videoconferencing technology, Internet courses or traditional classroom instruction. More than 1,500 distance-learning students are enrolled in the Dumke College of Health Professions.

Graduates from our programs achieve pass rates on licensure and certification examinations within the 90-100 percent range. We also offer valuable real-world experience through many undergraduate research opportunities. Service learning, which allows students to put classroom learning into practice, is a central core to our mission.

The college’s faculty and staff are dedicated to providing students with the best possible educational experiences. In appreciation, we motivate and reward them through efforts such as our professional development initiative, which recently has been expanded and made more user-friendly to those applying for grants.

I invite you to take a few minutes to explore each of the program pages on our site and contact us for more information about how to get started, whether you have never set foot in a university classroom or are seeking courses for an advanced degree in your field.
