Testing Center Guidelines

DCHP LRC & TESTING CENTER POLICIES

 
  • Government or university photo identification (Wildcat card) is required for admission to any tests.  Passports, driver licenses, military identification, and school picture identification from U of U, BYU, USU, BYU-Idaho, SLCC, UVU, DSU, SUU, or ISU is also acceptable if current.  Identification not accepted includes Food Handlers Permit, Concealed Weapon Permit, credit card, Lagoon, IRS, hospital, or any other work identification.  The name must match university records.  A marriage license or legal divorce decree must be presented if there has been a last name change not yet reflected in university records from Banner.  Lastly, a professor may identify a student in person.

  • Backpacks and book bags are not allowed inside the testing room.  Purses, keys, laptops/tablets, sunglasses, and sundry items may be placed in testing room cubbies or under the table and cannot be accessed during the exam.

  • Only testing materials named by instructor may be on the table. 

  • Cell phones may be taken into the testing room.  However, they must be powered off and remain inside a pocket during an exam.  Any use of a cell phone, including looking at the screen, inside the testing room will result in the immediate termination of the exam.  If a cell phone was not powered off and makes any noise during a test, the proctor will confiscated until the test is finished.

  • Calculators with Wi-Fi capabilities are not allowed.

  • Electronic dictionaries are not allowed unless the instructor has given permission.

  • Wristwatches and pocket watches are not allowed.

  • Hats and head coverings are not allowed, except in regards to religious affiliation.

  • Leaving to use the restroom will result in the termination of an exam, unless the instructor has given permission.

  • Food and drinks are not allowed, including water bottles.

  • The only talking allowed in the testing room must be directed toward a proctor.

  • Any issues involving a test's instructions or availability are between the instructor and the student only.  LRC staff will resolve errors when possible.

  • The Testing Center staff may end a student's exam if there are questions that need to be addressed with the student or with the instructor.

  • Children are not allowed to accompany a parent into the testing room.  Children left in the waiting area should be attended to at all times.

  • Any violation to Weber State University's Code of Conduct will be reported to the Dean of Students, as well as the instructor.

  • For Chitester exams allowing Notes and/or Cue Sheets, the Testing Center will collect and dispose of all Notes and return Cue Sheets.  For exams allowing Open Book and Open Notes, the students may retain their Book and Notes, however if any additional writing is found, they will be confiscated and given to the instructor.

  • For Paper exams allowing Notes and/or Cue Sheets, the Testing Center will collect and attach the student's Notes/Cue Sheet to the exam.  For exams allowing Open Book and Open Notes, the students may retain their Book and Notes, but if any additional writing is found, they will be confiscated and given to the instructor.
