Changes have occurred in the BSN program. First- there is no longer mandatory, prescribed clinical learning requirements. Core courses of the program now have a companion one (1) credit hour laboratory which may include the new simulation lab, field experience or other special learning which augments the theory course. Students who have specific clinical interests will plan with course faculty.Second- BSN courses will be delivered via a "Hybrid" format. "Hybrid" is a combination of face to face instruction and online. Students attend campus classes, study and complete assignments/learning online and then return to campus for further face to face interactions. Specific dates for on-campus are indicated at the beginning of the semester, but at this time weeks one, four, seven, nine, twelve and fifteen are the weeks students need to plan to attend campus classes. Please note: The assessment course meets weeks 1, "2", 4, 7, 9 & 12.Third- four of the BSN courses have been compressed into seven week blocks. This means students complete two weeks of work/study in each individual week. Compressed courses meet on-campus three times during the semester. Block one runs weeks one (1) through seven (7). Block two runs weeks nine (9) through fifteen (15). At this time there is a one week break between the two blocks. |
