The John A. and Telitha E. Lindquist Scholarship for Creative and Artistic Endeavor and the Telitha E. Lindquist Academic Scholarship are the foremost private scholarships available to Arts and Humanities students. Each scholarship seeks to enhance and enrich the academic, social, cultural, and artistic efforts of the students of the College of Arts & Humanities.
Checklist of steps and deadlines to apply:
Students must be a declared major in a program within the College of Arts & Humanities.
By February 16th, students must request a letter of recommendation/nomination from an A&H faculty member familiar with your schoolwork.
By March 2nd, faculty in the College of Arts & Humanities may recommend/nominate a student and must provide a letter describing the student’s qualifications to the Dean’s Office in the Browning Center, Room 312, before 5:00 p.m.
By March 2nd, students must update their personal information on their “Student Services” page: log in to the student portal from the WSU homepage, then verify or add personal information for scholarships.
By March 6th, all nominated students must provide a letter of application with information about work done in creative and artistic endeavors and/or academic excellence, and plans for completing an academic degree to the Dean’s office in the Browning Center, Room 312, before 5:00 p.m.
By March 6th, students nominated for the John A. and Telitha E. Lindquist Scholarship for Creative and Artistic Endeavor must also provide a sample piece of work such as a piece of writing, video, or artwork, or a photo or recording of music, dance, theatrical to the Dean’s Office in the Browning Center, Room 312, before 5:00 p.m.
Please note:
Faculty recommendations/nominations are at the discretion of the faculty.
Some students may not qualify for this scholarship because of other awards.
The student seeking recommendation/nomination is responsible for all follow-up in regards to stated deadlines.
Recommendation/nomination deadline is March 2, 2009, before 5:00 p.m. Please turn in your proposed student recommendations/nominations to the Dean’s Office in the Browning Center, Room 312.
