PAWS - Returning to WSU

I plan to return for a future semester at WSU

Sometimes you need a break from school, or you have other important things in your life that may mean putting school on hold for a little while, and that’s okay. We want to help you reach your goal of achieving a college education. Here are the steps you should take to make sure your return is smooth and easy.

  • Step 1 - If you are receiving any type of financial aid or scholarships you need to check with them to make sure they know you are taking a break at WSU. Call (801) 626-7569 to speak with Financial Aid and make sure all your ducks are in a row.

  • Step 2 – If you need to withdraw from all your classes for this current semester you need to contact the Registrar’s Solution Center at (801) 626-6100 to get it done. You cannot drop all your classes online!
    • If you are an NCAA athlete make sure you speak with your coaches prior to withdrawing from classes.  Withdrawing from school can have long term effects because of NCAA rules.
    • If you are an international student, withdrawing from classes can have a negative effect on your studnet visa.  Before you withdraw from classes please speak with an advisor at the International Student Services Office at (801) 626-6853.

  • Step 3 - Click here to let us know when you plan to return and how best to reach you so we can provide you with timely help. You will need to log in to your student account, and then you will be forwarded to the returning information page.

  • Step 4 - If you are planning to be out of the area for a while (mission. military service, etc.) you may want to identify someone here who can act in your place, and there is a form you need to fill out to give them your permission to do that. Click here to print that form, make sure whoever you give it to hangs on to it!

  • Step 5 – Click here to fill out the anonymous survey to help us understand your reasons for not registering for classes. This can help us better serve students in the future.

When you are ready to return, simply click the following link to go to the Returning Students page and follow the steps. It’s fast, easy, and there is no admission fee if you have not attended another college since attending WSU.

If you have any questions please give us a call at (801) 626-6050. Good luck, and remember, cats have nine lives, but Wildcats live forever!
