I am transferring schools or I do not plan to resume my studies at WSU
We’re sad to see you go, and we hope you plan to continue your education, even if it’s not at WSU. To make sure you are making your exit in the smoothest possible way, follow the steps below.
- Step 1 - If you are receiving any type of financial aid you need to check with them to make sure all is good to go, whether you are taking a break at WSU or transferring that aid elsewhere. Call (801) 626-7569 to speak with Financial Aid and make sure all your ducks are in a row.
- Step 2 – If you need to withdraw from all your classes this semester you need to contact the Registrar’s Solution Center at (801) 626-6100 to get it done. You cannot drop all your classes online!
- If you are an NCAA athlete make sure you speak with your coaches prior to withdrawing from classes. Withdrawing from school can have long term effects because of NCAA rules.
- If you are an international student, withdrawing from classes can have a negative effect on your studnet visa. Before you withdraw from classes please speak with an advisor at the International Student Services Office at (801) 626-6853.
- Step 3 – Stop by or call the Records Office to have your transcripts sent to the school your will be attending; or, if you are not immediately planning to attend another school, pick up one or two copies of your official transcripts for your own records. You can reach the Records Office at (801) 626-6100. Keep in mind, once you open the envelope, it is no longer an official copy!
- Step 4 – If you are planning to transfer to another school, make sure you are working with an advisor there so you know how your credits will transfer. All the state schools in Utah will accept our credits, but schools use them differently. Know before you go!
- Step 5 – Click here to fill out an anonymous survey to help us understand your reasons for not completing your education at WSU. This can help us better serve students in the future.
If at any time you decide to return to WSU, we’ll make it easy for you. Simply go to the Admissions page (weber.edu/admissions), click on “Returning Students” and update your student record. It’s fast, easy, and there is no admission fee if you have not attended another school since attending WSU.
Good luck, and remember, cats have nine lives, but Wildcats live forever!
