The Provost's Office is responsible for the academic programs of the University. They include over 215 majors at the associate, bachelor, and master level. They represent the collective work of over 460 full-time faculty, 400 adjunct faculty, 200 staff, 16 executives, and the over 20,000 students they provide education for.
Academic Affairs includes seven colleges, the library, enrollment services, continuing education, career and technical education, sponsored projects, institutional accreditation, and assessment. Together we are responsible for instruction at two campuses, five other institutions, and nine other locations throughout Utah, in six states, and throughout the world on WSU Online.
Associate Provost Bruce Bowen has responsibility for Enrollment Services, including Academic Advising (The Student Success Center), Admissions, Financial Aid, Graduation, Records, the Registrar's Office, Scholarships, and Student Recruitment. Other responsibilities include Early College, the First Year Experience Program and transfer articulation.
Ryan Thomas, the Associate Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Studies, heads accreditation and assessment and coordinates efforts with the systems office. Other responsibilities include adjunct faculty, the Bachelor of Integrated Studies, Honors Program, the Center for Community Engaged Learning, and liaison with the Teaching and Learning Forum.
Alexander Lawrence, the Vice Provost for Innovation & Economic Development, directs the technology innovation center on campus that supports the Utah Science, Technology and Research (USTAR) economic development initiative. USTAR is an innovative, far-reaching effort to bolster Utah's economy with high-paying jobs.
