Present: Bruce Bowen, Dave Eisler, Ron Galli, David Greene, Warren Hill, John Lamborn (attended for Joan Hubbard), Kathleen Lukken, Monica Mize, June Phillips, Richard Sadler, Gene Sessions, Paul Thompson, Michael Vaughan, Lydia Wingate

Adjunct Faculty Efforts: An update on the projects that the Adjunct Faculty Task Force are working on was provided. To recruit prospective adjunct faculty, WSU will start advertising in October and will hold an open house on November 6 at the Alumni Center from 5:30 to 7:30PM. TEAM workshops are also being held in the evenings to encourage adjunct faculty to increase their knowledge, skills and abilities.

Advising, followup from discussion of 9/17: Plans are to leverage efforts to lead up to Major Fest on October 31. Assistance is needed with displays, manning tables, and faculty distributing handouts during classes for 1st year students.

PREP: A two hour training session for department chairs has been scheduled for October 11. Deans were asked to complete the PREP process by the end of Fall semester. The provost will send an email giving details of where to get the PREP forms.

Employee Plans for 2002 Olympics: Input was solicited on the security concerns during the 2002 Olympics. Curling will be the only event that will occur near campus, which will be at the Dee Events Center. There will be no parking available at the Dee Events Center, but on campus it is believed that there will be no parking problems. Plans are for the Gym and Library to be open and the Children’s School to be closed. Concerns and ideas expressed will be taken to Presidents council for discussion. Please email the Provost with any additional comments.

Program Review: Program review materials were distributed by Lydia Wingate (Health Professions), David Greene (Education), and Richard Sadler (Social Work).
